Didcom-PID helps companies improve the passenger transportation experience, giving customers increased certainty of where their students or employees get on or off of a passenger transportation vehicle, such as a bus. The solution includes an easy-to-install RFID reader that registers each time a passenger gets on or gets off of a vehicle and connects that information with near real-time GPS location data, and in turn, notifies the company through the MyGeotab application.

Didcom – PID transmits all information through Geotab GO devices and the software is fully integrated with the MyGeotab platform as an Add-In, allowing users to relay every detail of the ride such as bus status, driver’s identification, route, location and many other configurable items. All of the information processed is available in near real-time on the MyGeotab platform. In addition,  Didcom-PID allows compatibility with multiple proximity cards and real-time monitoring of bus capacity, a very important concept to help ensure COVID-19 related safe distancing protocols.

Together, Didcom – PID and Geotab make it possible to identify passengers’ IDs, track ascent and descent date and location, manage bus occupancy and control the collection of fees for the use of public transportation buses. PID can also be integrated with third-party systems, making PID a great resource for passenger transportation.
